A study published in the journal, Pediatrics, shows that newborns who live in a household with cats or dogs have more healthy immune systems than those that don't. It's believed that the exposure to the germs and allergens pets bring strengthens the child's immune system. It was also found that dogs were better than cats. Why? Because dogs are more social and allow children to cuddle with them, pull their fur, or let the dog lick their face. Cats, of course, have better things to do.
